My most recent body of work tells the story of a black man trying to find his way home after he finds himself in a mysterious world. We see him wandering about in a strange crow-inhabited island-type universe seemingly in space dominated by watchtowers, satellites, fences & sometimes paper planes & boats. These drawings are insights to this alternate universe & they try to unravel this narrative while questioning the man’s presence, which can be interpreted as existing in someone’s subconscious. The unfolding story is tied to present day conversations around migration and displacement, home as well as the existence of alternate universes.
