Notebook Concept

We are in front of a very politicized notebook in which the artist uses newspaper cuttings to talk about the Ivorian leaders, strongly criticizing their honesty and calling them hypocrites and Eliseo’s puppets. The artist, in fact, reveals the intrusion of France and U.S.A. into the internal business of Ivory Coast, marking the absence of credibility of the local politicians. The pages of the notebook appear afflicted by cuts, burns and strong brush strokes. Moreover it doesn’t miss religious references as the transcription of the “Corinthians letter 15:36-38” mentioned in the Bible, which opens the notebook.

(the concept’s text is by Raffaella Carillo)
