Created retrospectively, the Moleskine notebook traces the history of the residence, which had been chronicled day by day on a blog. Through a number of texts and photographs, the artist recalls the events experienced in this place and the developments, sometimes spectacular, of the project. This notebook therefore becomes an object of art in itself, a trace, a memory of this adventure. It consists of one single piece that unfolds like an accordion, alternating text and image. The whole history of the residence is there. The notebook was adapted and redesigned by the artist to be part of lettera27’s collection.
(Metz, France 1973) Lives and works in Strasbourg, France
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Strasbourg in 2000 and received a degree in architecture from the School of Strasbourg in 2001. Since then, he has dedicated himself to ar(t)chitectural research – a neologism indicating the strict connection between architecture and arts – founding the 3RS group and becoming an active member of the EXYZT group right from the start. Along with this intense collective activity, Frédéric Keiff focuses on his work as a visual artist, using the constitutive elements of architecture – materials, structures and light – in new forms and dimensions.
